Kalinga University, Faculty of Law hosted ‘FIRST-STEP-2021,' a spectacular induction for students of LLB, session 2021-22 on Thursday, September 23, 2021. A gracious welcome ceremony was organised on a virtual platform at the onset of new academic session for newly admitted students of LLB program. The students were delighted by the warm welcome they received and immediately felt at home. Following that, they were given a presentation regarding Kalinga University’s’ academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, as well as its formation in Chhattisgarh as one of the foremost private universities in Central India.
After a ceremonial welcome, the newcomers were taken for a journey of Kalinga University through a short film that provided an insight into life at Kalinga University, both within and outside the classroom. Dr. R. Shridhar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr.Byju John, Registrar, Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Academic Affairs, Mr. Rahul Mishra, Deans and Heads of various Departments, and other faculty members attended the ceremony. The special Guest of Honour was Ms.Sugandha Jain, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. The session began with the blessings of Sarasvati Vandana, the Goddess of Wisdom that was followed by a cordial greeting by the masters of the ceremony, Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi. On that note, Ms. Vassavi, a B.Sc. student at the university, performed a welcome dance.
Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar of the University, delivered a welcome message and briefed the students about the University’s' regulatory status, awards and the accolades that the university has received in its journey until now. In his inspirational approach, he frequently alluded to the accomplishments of university students and encouraged them on education-ethos. He advised the new group on when and how to utilize outstanding judgment and actions. He concluded by asking students to be an integral part of the University, demonstrating their skills across all University platforms.
Dr. R Shridhar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, delivered a motivating speech after the Registrar's welcoming address.Dr. Shridhar discussed different possibilities for pursuing their studies. He insisted on applying the university’s’ framework for developing talent and knowledge via hands-on training and a robust curriculum. He motivated them by highlighting the significance of academic and professional abilities in attaining the ultimate objective of success. The address of the Vice-Chancellor was followed by a virtual Fashion Show put on by the students of Kalinga University. Following the performance, Dr.Byju John, Director General of Kalinga University, enlightened and blessed the new members of the Kalinga family.
Dr. Byju John asserted that the foundation of higher education traditions emphasizes a nation's golden age. Our country focused on knowledge, development, and transmission of camps, and created world-renowned universities and educational institutes. He emphasizes that Kalinga University has evolved and is in the process of re-energizing higher education in Chhattisgarh, in recognition of the society's strength residing in the entire development of its young people. He concluded his address by urging the students to connect their passions with the purpose of their life, establish a community network, and focus on their overall development.
Following the Director General's speech, Ms. Sugandha Jain made an enthusiastic and uplifting speech. She asked the youngsters to perform to the best of their ability. This potential brings benefit to experiences and knowledge on which everyone must count to improve and advance. She emphasized the need of overcoming the fear of failure and knowing the brain mechanisms for optimal growth; this information serves as a strong foundation for training and educating students.
The address of the chief guest was followed by a Pictionary game and a presentation by Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Shreya Dwivedi in which the students were introduced to the Deans and Heads of various Departments. Mr. Omprakash Dewangan then coordinated an enthusiastic dance performance of university students, Ritik and Group that was the next highlight of the event.
The students were then addressed by Ms. Shobha Singh Thakur, the in-charge and head of the Faculty of Law. She emphasized that Kalinga University's moot court and other infrastructure including its digital library with a wide range of books, modern classrooms for flipped teaching methods, and mixed approaches, facilitates the students to achieve their dreams. Ms.Shobha Singh discusses the significance of punctuality, fearlessness, and how the qualified and experienced faculty members can help them in creating an integrated environment for a better understanding of basic life principles, as well as how students can improve their professional and technical expertise through continual mentoring. Because it caters to the law and justice-centric viewpoint, law is one of the most essential professional tracks for building legal and fearless personalities. The University complements this by providing a varied range of possibilities, and students can participate in a variety of activities that are available to them within and outside the University learning.
Following the discourse, Afghan students of the University presented a fantastic dance performance. Mr. Rahul Mishra, Dean Academic Affairs, assured each student of their value and capacity to provide something new and exciting to their diverse learning community. He finished his speech by offering general advice on how to make the most of their time at Kalinga University. Ms. Anjali Swamy coordinated the quizzes, reasonings, and riddles, which was followed by an interaction with Ms. Urshita Baranwal, the University coordinator. Following that, students from Kalinga University performed a Chhattisgarh traditional dance that was coordinated by Mr. Omprakash Dewangan.
An online talent round was organised by Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi organized for the newly admitted students. Dr. Hindole Ghosh, Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean of Student Welfare, presented a vote of thanks at the end of the Induction Program, which was followed by a group photo and student feedback. The program was effectively conducted by Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi. Mr. Omprakash Dewangan and Mr.ToshanTarak were a constant back support throughout the event. The students showed genuine admiration for Kalinga University and were enthusiastic for a new beginning.
